Angus council is currently scanning its quarter of a million burial records which will be online for people to browse as a virtual cemetary.

See article HERE about it.

Hi Denny,

I can't find anything on this link about the quarter of a million burial records which will be online for people to browse as a virtual cemetary. Sorry my fault I clicked on the tayroots.com instead of the ( here )

Hello, I've got two questions on Montrose burials:

I'm wondering if Rossie Island Burial Ground/Inchbraeock is still in existence?   I can't see it on a Google map.  I  lived at Craig and know the burial ground there was deconsecretaed and bodies moved into Montrose...did the same happen to Rossie?

My ancestor lived at Castle Street in Montrose and died 1837 yet she was buried at Rossie...was this normal?  Did it indicate that she didn't worship at one of the two main churches?

Any thoughts welcomed.  I'm in France so can't check it out in person!
