Re William Waters
When I finally tracked down William's death, it was in 1839 so before any Census. He was also quite a lot older than I expected (62), but that hasn't helped me to find his birth.
William would have been born about 1777. I haven't found anything for the Ely area but I know that not all the parish records are available over the Net at the moment.
Question is: Waters was a common surname in the Fens (I wonder why!), but there was a Waters family in Newmarket who were blacksmiths. This is close to Ely so, is it just coincidence, or should I expect to find a connection?
