Hi David,

Thanks very much for the lookup and all the additional info, that's the family I've been looking for. Thomas had died by 1861 and Maria re-married, so I've been struggling to find the family history, so the 1841 result goes a long way to sorting it all out.

It's a pity the 1851 census is only available on fiche, but you have answered my main concern by confirming Thomas & Maria were man and wife. I have been unable, up to this point, to find documentary proof of this (don't seem to be much on the IGI for Catworth, for this period). I can now send for birth certs, in the knowledge that I'm not miles "off beam".

Thanks once more,

Cheers Rob

Hi Robraw,

Thanks for revisiting this one for me, to tell you the truth, I had forgotten all about this. Your help has now opened up a whole new area of research for me. It shows that Maria King's husband had already died by 1851 which helps me narrow down his death. It also gives me some new names to look into.

Thanks very much for your help.

Now 1841 has been released on Ancestry, perhaps someone can take a look to see if the family can be found in that census.

Cheers Rob
