Hello Dear Friends,

Her parents were JOHN DUFFELL and Dinah (Henson) Duffell.
I know this is along shot but if anyone can please help me I will be over the moon and very grateful.

Hi Children
Although censuses were taken from 1801 every ten years it was not until the 1841 that they contained information for Family Historians to help with their lineage.
There was also a Religous Census taken in 1851 for the Churches.
Here is Dinah in 1841
NASEBY DINAH DUFFELL 30 born in county Y NASEBY GEORGE DUFFELL 1 born in county N NASEBY REBECCA HALL 20 born in ocunty Y NASEBY ALICE PERKINS 20 born in county N
No Alice with her will look further.
Cheers Sandy

Hi Sandy,
Thankyou for answering my request on Alice Duffell. I am having a hard time trying to put my husbands Great Great Grandparents together.
John Duffell was born in Surrey 12 Dec 1799, he was Chr 29 June 1800 in Washington Durham. He married Dinah Henson (I do not know when or where). Dinah Henson was Chr 09 April 1809 in Naseby, Northampton.
Their Children were:- Alice Duffell Chr 30 Aug 1829 Naseby Elizabeth Duffell Chr 01 Apr 1831 Naseby Lucy Duffell born 1833 Chr 29 July 1836 Naseby Bartholomew Duffell Chr ??/Aug/1834 Nasbey Hannah Duffell Born c1835 Surrey Mary Ann Duffell born c1836 Surrey Charlotte Duffell born c1833 Peterborough Annie Duffell born c1838 Peterborough George Duffell born c1840 Peterborough Alfred Duffell Born c1846 Peterborough Amelia Duffell born c1848 Peterborough
Sandy I apologize for any ignorance on my part, but I live in Tasmania, so I don't know how far away these places are from one another. I also don't know if some of the Duffell children were born in one place and maybe christened in another.
All the family left England (except Alice, Elizabeth and Bartholomew) in 1854 on the ship the "Flora Mcdonald" to come to Tasmania. I am also trying to find out what happened to Alice, Elizabeth and Bartholomew who stayed behind in England.
I appreciate any help that is given and I thankyou for your time and patience. Please take care.
Wendy

Hi Wendy
I looked at the Naseby baptisms which were appalling today totally blurred but did manage to copy 2 so when I have deciphered them I will list.
There was no Marriages or Baptisms in Peterborough for the other children you mentioned.
Where did they go before coming across to Tasminia?
Cheers Sandy

Hi Seahall,
the only other place which I know the DUFFELL'S went was Surrey. Huntingdonshire was also mentioned. John DFFELL was born in Surrey and was christened at Washington in Durham. He might of gone back to where his parents were living.
Apart from that I do not know where they went before coming to Tasmania in 1855.
I am going to have a look on the IGI and try and find out. I will let you know if I do.
I look forward in hearing from you again soon, take care
Wendy

Hello Sandy,
Just to let you know that the information that you sent me on rootsweb.com site on the Duffell family is my line.
Thankyou very much for that it has helped greatly.
There is one member of that Duffell family that I can not find and that is "ANNIE DUFFELL', who was born c1838 in Peterborough, Northampton.
From the shipping records it stated that ANNIE DUFFELL was 17 years old. If you find her please let me know.

Hi
I am having great difficultly trying to read the information for your Duffell's.
I think this is Alice's Baptism
Naseby Parish Records Pg 30 No Unreadable
August 3oth? 1829 Alice daughter of John and Dinah Dusfel Naseby Gardener
Maybe some other person can look at a better original as they are really blurred.
Cheers Sandy

Last one not sure of Page think it is 33
Naseby Parish Records Pg 33 No Unreadable
August 29? 1827 Luke son of John and Dinah Duffel Naseby Labourer
Sorry they are not clearer so that I could give you more accurate details but I hope it clears up some differences noted in your own post.

P.S. I looked for a birth in the G.R.O's for a Annie Duffell iin the years 1837 Sep Qtr to the Dec Qtr of 1838 but could not find her.
Re-checked original images for Naseby 1841 Census no sign of any other children.
I did see the birth reg's for Charlotte onwards and it states Peterborough Registration District link http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/REG/nth.htm which covers quite a few parishes besides Peterborough.
I also looked at the whole of Peterborough (no sub districts as I did not have time) in 1841 and no family noted.
Cheers Sandy
