Hello to all RootsChat Members,

Just wondering:
What is the procedure for placing a quote (from another posting) within a message?

Also, can it be a quote from a different Topic, to the one which I am planning on posting the message to?

The tag for quoting is

[quote#] to start it and [/quote#]

I've put hash marks in so you can see the tag - but they shouldn't be there.

Using this tag means it will look like this...

I wandered lonely as a cloud.

If you are quoting a post in the same thread then there is a "quote" button on each post.  This will then include a line above the quote that says who it was posted by and when.  If you are quoting from another thread or just want to quote from a newspaper whatever I'd put a link then do the simple [quote#] tag around the text you copy.

Thank you Pam for replying to my question, I will give it a try sometime soon.  It was about 21 hrs ago, that I was in the process of posting this message to you, when I and possibly all who were on 'RootsChat' at that time, received (a Fatal Error Message), so I had to close down and go to bed.
