I wondered if someone had an index for the 1841 census - Faringdon Berkshire.
Looking for William JACKSON born circa 1806, Faringdon and his wife Maria, Born circa 1810
Also - any other "elderly" Jackson's born and living in Faringdon

Hi Christine,
I can't help with the census look-up, but I do have the parish record transcripts for Faringdon.
I have found:-
8/9/1803 Jackson, William, s Edward & Alice, born aug 19.
Would you like details of ny siblings?

Yes please Paula - that would be great. You don't happen to have an entry for William JACKSON marrying a Maria? around 1830-1832?
Also, and I'm being really cheeky now - is there an entry for Edward's marriage to Alice?

3/6/1832 James, son of William & Maria, lab
23/2/1834 Charles, son of " " "
3/7/1836 Henry, so fo " " "
23/9/1838 Sophia, dau of " " "
11/4/1841 John, son of " " "
17/9/1843 Isaiah, son of William & Meribah, lab
23/2/1845 Maria, dau of William & Maria, lab
2/5/1847 Amos, son of " " "
30/10/1853 Matilda, dau of " " "
Also 1803 - 1811 (Just to throw a spanner in the works, another William!!!)
24/8/1809 William, son of John & Sarah, born July 2
If you work out which Willam is yours, I will try and find some other siblings.

Thanks Paula - really appreciated. I'm almost certain that my William is the son of Edward and Alice. From census returns his date of birth implies 1805. In the absence of a baptism in 1805, I am leaning towards 1803. However, I am surprised William hasn't named one of his sons Edward or a daughter Alice.
But I would apprecieate the names of children of Edward and Alice.

Hi Chris,
Unfortunatley, there are no baptisms for any Jacksons in Farindon from 1790 to 1803.
