Marriage lookup BURLACE

Hello
Can anyone help find a marriage for a John and Betty Burlace from Stoke Climsland.
My 4x Gr Grandfather James was born there in 1802.
I have a copy of baptisms of Stoke Climsland and have found the name also spelt
Bourlace
Borlace.
I don't think the parents came from Stoke Climsland as the earlest birth for the surname is 1798.
There is 7 baptisms for that area  and I think they maybe the same family altough the surname's used all three spellings the parents are listed as
John and Betty
John and Elizabeth
John and Elizth.

Hope this makes sence.

Can't see a likely marriage locally - there is a John Borlase to an Elizabeth in Madron, but that's the other end of the county. Could the marriage be in Devon?

I had a look at some of the baptisms in an index I have, and in the case of James, Sarah 1806, Margaret 1810 and Christopher 1812 (the ones I checked), the parents are given as John Borlase or variant and Elizabeth Mad(d)ocks - which seems to suggest that they weren't married. Unless you know a different reason for the mother's surname being given?

The baptism records I have don't show a maiden name for the mother but I have the same childrens name as you as well as three more
Maria 1798,Richard 1800,and Jane 1814.
It's possible they came from Devon.
I found a Christopher Borlace on the 1841 Cornwall census and in 1851 he was in Devon with his brother Richard this time there surname is spelt Burlace birth place Stoke Climsland, And in 1861 he is back in Cornwall.
The girls are harder to find and my James had joined the army and moved to London.
This is all I know on his history but the name Maddocks gives me somthing to go on.

Discharged aged 41
Date range; 1823- 1844

would make him b c 1803
