I'm looking for any reference to Thomas and Margaret Plimsoll and their family in the 1871 Census. In the 1861 Census they lived at 6 Brownlow Street.
Many thanks,
Phil

Hi Pauline,
Thomas was born about 1811 in Plymouth, Devon, Margaret in about 1808 in Exeter, Devon and Thomas's son Thomas Joseph Hatch Plimsoll about 1843 in Holborn, Middlesex.
Many thanks,
Phil

I cannot find any of them.
Are you quite certain that they would be alive?

Pauline,
I have since discovered that Thomas died in 1863 and Margaret in 1870. That still leaves Thomas Joseph. I am assuming he was still alive as I believe he married Elizabeth Margaret Palmer sometime between 1871 and 1877 and died leaving her a widow somewhere in that same period, as she remarried in 1877 as Elizabeth Margaret Plimsoll and she and her new husband, Frederick Clyma, resided at the former home of Thomas, Margaret and Thomas Joseph at 6 Brownlow Street.

Hi
I've looked up the CLYMA family in 1881 and see that it is Brownlow St, Holborn St Andrew - it's always useful to post any census entries that you already have to enable people to get a clearer picture of the family and to, hopefully, find them easier
Unfortunately, there is no PLIMSOLL at 6 Brownlow Street in 1871:
COLLINGS Harriett FORD Eliz. H grandau PALMER George H lodger / Thomas R AUSTEN Ellen Esther sister / Maurice KLENKICHT? Rosa wife Martha KRAUSS serv ..................
Is that your Elizabeth M PALMER at 16 Brownlow Street in 1871? RG10/372 folio 54 page 37 ..................

Thanks for that.
Yes that is my Elizabeth M Palmer (later Plimsoll then Clyma). Also George H Palmer - Lodger at 6 Brownlow Street was her brother! He is listed in the 1881 Census at that address with the Clyma family as George Calmer!!
