Further to my initial post I have a Thomas Pickin and Mary? first appearance at the birth of their eldest John c 1807 then we have Thomas, William, Mary, Joseph, George, Sarah, Francis, James, Henry, Hannah, Anna -Maria, Edwin c Derby, Frances and Charles a lot who died quite young. John married Lucy possibly Etheridge, Henry married Jane Yates, Edwin was convicted of arson and was transported to Australia The others I have no info
Most of the births were around Kiddemore Green with christenings registered in the St Mary's (catholic)parish records at Brewood love to hear from anyone about this family and would appreciate a lookup from the 1851 index for Pickin or Picken at Brewood Cheers Chris in Tremont

You probably know by now that Shifnal Shropshire is not far from Brewood Staffordshire, but just in case it helps will submit this.
Both are near the stately home Weston Park.

Hi Angie
I guess you are still looking for that link between your Hevinghams and your T Picken from Blakenhall, sorry I am none the wiser.
My Thomas is the one detailed above in Coldham who was born in 1785 or so in Donington His second son also Thomas may have been a possibility but I'm 90% certain he was born in Bishopswood having been christened in Brewood 1809
From memory your guy may have fitted this age group but it is such a common name I can't say whether this is the right one or not
I know almost certainly that my Thomas jnr survived at least until 1842 when his brother Edwin (which is my line) was transported to Oz as Thomas is named as a sibling but unfortunately he is also the only sibling which I have been unable to positively track through registers census or bdms The Blakenhall connection leads me to think that the 2 Thomas' are not the same although one sibling (Henry) did settle in Tettenhall as well as other family members and in his later years Thomas senior (1785) also. Hope you get to the bottom of your Hevingham story perhaps the Tettenhall churchwardens accounts may give some clue about your "nurse children"
would love to hear when and if you find out
cheers Chris (titania)
