I'm looking for a William Stratton (born 1813 in Hayle, Cornwall) who may have appeared in the 1851 Census along with his wife Avis Stratton (born:1813 in St. Erth, Cornwall).

Thank you for checking the census pages for William & Avis Stratton. I determined through several other RootChat inquires that the family name had undergone various spelling changes (Stratton, Stratten Strathen, Strathan, Trathan, Trathen, Trathem etc.).
It seems that the family started as Stratton in the 1700's and changed to Trathan in the early 1800's while living in Phillack, near Hayle Cornwall. Those who moved to Swansea Wales gradually changed back to Stratton!
As a result, it had proved difficult to locate them in the earlier Census pages.
