I was just going through these postings and found this one.  My partners grandfather was one William Lelean Best who lived in Tasmania.  I don't know if this is the same one

Hi, thanks for that. It may well be him, do you happen to know any more? Mine was born in Dorset, Wm John, 1874. He had lots of children apparently, my mother met one of his sons/grandsons who was stationed in Salisbury Wilts during the last war.,
Not a lot to go on, but he has to be somewhere!!!

I have a best in my tree

and did he come he for a wedding ? in 1915
