Harold E. Barnes NSW Please

Hi All,

Harold E. Barnes was born in London in 1911.  He was in an orphanage.  His Mother and younger brother came to Perth c1923 and sent for him but he was supposed to have jumped ship in Sydney and not heard from again.

I would appreciate if anyone could find a marriage or death for him in NSW.

NSW marriage and death indexes are only available until 1945. You can search them online at www.bdm.nsw.gov.au - follow the family history links

Harold E. Barnes married Maud Hines at Quirindi, NSW, in 1919, reg. no. 1002. Quirindi is a country town in NSW.  You can order the certificate online at the website given to you above.

Is the 1919 correct? If Ros's Harold was born in 1911 a 1919 marriage is unlikely to be him.

Hi Diana and Trish,

Thanks for your input.  The birth date was calculated from his age on his mother's death certificate.  As the informant is the funeral director (seems they want their name more than once on death certificates) then the age could be incorrect.
