Lost marriage during the second World War
« on: Wednesday 08 June 05 08:48 BST (UK) »

I am still looking for details of my mother's first marriage during the Second World War.  Her name was Olive Kathleen DOUGLASS born in Barnes Nov 1923. Olive went to Sheen County High School and later Richmond County High.  Her father owned a ironmongers shop called A. H. Douglass & sons in the lower Richmond road. At one time there was another shop with the same name in Richmond.

My mother was married sometime during the second world war to possible a GI with the surname of WRIGHT, may be from Canada. My mother told me that he was an air force pilot who went missing on a mission toward the end of the Second world War. There was a baby boy who died.

I have had no luck with finding the marriage on the GRO or army records. I have also searched on the Commonwealth Graves site. No luck. My mother worked as a telephonist in the civil service. At one time she worked at the Admiralty.

Any information about my mother of any kind gratefully received.
