Whoopee! What luck!
« on: Wednesday 08 June 05 16:53 BST (UK) »

Some of you will recognise my
Alexander McMillan b Scotland Helensburgh

I have just discovered a message dated 19Dec 2001 on genforum.com which asks for info about Alexander's family.
It says ' Alex (of Helensburgh) died in a train crash with his wife and an uncle took the family house. The 4chn walked to England - Ann, William, Alexander and another brother.
I found Ann (same source) married to William Francis in Hammersmith 1863 and in the 1871 census found my Alexander with Annie Francis his sister.
I'm off to Glasgow with my new information and although I've booked my 1st three nights in Glasgow has anyone info about B&Bs in Dunbartonshire? Glasgow prices for 1 are heavy and I can't find accommodation in Dunbartonshire. Jill

I am so pleased for you!  That really was an excellent find.   Smiley

Here are a couple of good B&B sites - I have used both with good results on previous trips to Scotland.

http://www.visitscotland.com/accommodation/

You should be able to search for B&B's in the Loch Lomond area without any problem.
