Ashton-Under-Lyne now part of Tameside (since local govt reorganisation in 1974)but used to be Lancashire with some bits in Cheshire. www.ashton-under-lyne.com has links to local and family history resources as well as an excellent message board which includes 'genealogy' and 'looking for family & friends'

All Saints Church website that's expanded to take in local history. It contains census information for Speke in 1881 and 91 census records and the graveyard records for the Church. Requests for photographs of stones are welcome and I will try to help with other enquiries whenever possible..
The site also has photographs and history of the village of Speke and it's connection with Speke Hall before the current estate was built.
If you are an ex-Spekeite the Guestbook is well worth a read!
