Scrap that last thought - I think that her maiden name was Harris. If it was Harris then her parents would be James and Mary Ann. Does this help?

Thanks Jan! Do you think that John Murphy would have been in Gloucestershire at the time of the 1841? He may still have been in Ireland but if my other Irish imigrants ancestors are anything to go by he was probably already here. Do you think you could have alook to see if he is? He would have been about 10 b.Ireland

There are quite few John Murphys in Gloucestershire born Ireland but none remotely the right age
