[quote Please lookup Gordon Radcliffe who was born in India but died in an auto accident in Auckland about 1991. His first wife was Thelma, I think they married in India and had 4 children, one was born in Auckland about 1960 after which his mother died. See if you can find this family. If you need them I can give you names of the living children....Thanks BH

hello, i would be glad to help look stuff up, but i really need more specific requests. can you tell me in which records and timeframe you would like me to start, and for which person/persons?
My grandparents - James Kay Horsfield and Alice Harding did arrive in Auckland in 1900. I have tried to find shipping details on the internet but have been unsuccessful so would appreciate it if you could do a search for me.
Thanks again for your willing assistance - I will be in touch.

Hi A few month's ago I wrote to all the Dobson's in Hamilton but only a few replyed so I dont think they are there. I have my Aunt's WILL here and she left everything to her Infant Step-Children. So by infant I would say they would be now about late 60's or 70's. I dont know anymore than this about them . My Aunt was acidently kill by a motorbike in march 1963 at Hamilton. Thankyou again. Trish.
I would be grateful if you could check the death indexes for James Patrick Milroy. He was born in Edinburgh in 1856, and was last heard from on Dec. 31, 1891, when he wrote his mother from Auckland. At the time he was employed by the Kauri Timber Co.
This is a shot in the dark, but I wonder whether he might have died in Auckland shortly after this date. His family was never able to trace what became of him.
Hello Ladies, Sorry to butt in here, but if you want to send a "private message" with out putting your own email in the message, just click on the person's name up on the left hand side of their message,. Their profile will come up, just scroll down and you will see; "send a private message" just click on that and you are on your way. What a great job you are doing Valmai! Cheers! and hope this helps a bit.

i have started going through the death index, so far i am up to 1922, he's not there yet, will continue and let you know progress.
Thank you very much. That sounds like a lot of work!
Do the death indexes cover all of New Zealand or just Auckland? My guess is that he didn't return to Britain, but it is also possible that he went back to Australia, where he had participated in several scientific/exploring expeditions in the desert.
i h ave searched ALL the death records in nz for your milroy and he is not there. so he may indeed have moved to oz as you suggested. there werent very many milroys at all, i noted them down if you think you may need them.
This is very much appreciated. I guess my next move will be to see if there might have been a police inquiry into his disappearance. This could be a long haul!
To the best of my knowledge, there were no related Milroys in New Zealand.
