Plowright & Cross families
« on: Saturday 10 July 04 02:41 BST (UK) »

Henry Plowright and Mary Ann Cross m March 1850 in Upwell and emigrated to the US soon thereafter.  Henry was the Henry of Upwell and Mary Ann was the daughter of Thomas.   I have been unable to find records of their parents.  Are the records going to be in Cambridgeshire?  Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi,
Have you searched the Cambridge History Society data-bases?
This may well be worth a try. Kind Regards, Frances

Yes, I have made many searches.  The biggest problem is that Welney and Upwell records can be in both Norfolk and Cambridge Counties.  Am I right in thinking that the time period of my research the records will be in Cambridgeshire?  My Henry "probably" is Not living in his parents household at the time of the 1841 census and he had immigrated by 1851.  What next?
