1841/51 Look up - Stanground, Peterborough
« on: Friday 10 June 05 18:41 BST (UK) »

Hi there
Is anyone able to look up the following family for me on the 1841 and 51 census's.
John Clay born c.1806 Stanground married to Alice born c1805 Alconbury.  John was a shoemaker by trade.  They had the following children that I know of....
Susannah c 1835
John 1837
William c 1849
Sarah c1842

ALSO

Stephen Cottingham born c1829 in Stanground, there is a chance he might be with his father and mother on the 1841 census who were called John and Mary.

Thanks   Smiley

Morning David
Thanks for looking the Clay bunch up for me in 1841, you gave me confirmation of a son who i suspected but could not be certain of ... namel Joseph. The other sister Ann is totally new to me.
By the way David I had a very productive time at Bedford library the other day, I found most of the Samuel and Albone lot on the '41 and '51 census's.  Smiley
Bye for now

Hi Donna
Unfortunately 1851 Hunts has not been released yet on CDrom, so you need someone with the Hunts FHS transcripts to check for you in 1851.

Glad Bedford was productive!

Hi Sandy

Totally beyond me,  but someone posted  a similar request on the General board a while back, and someone much more computer literate than I suggested all would be made clear on

Sorry it's taken so long. Had visitors this weekend and had to take them back to the airport and pour them on the plane.
