Hello,Jill,nice to hear from you.
Mygt gt gt grandmother was Kitty Thornhill-born in Gainsborough in 1799 bapt there on 17 August 1799.She had an illegitimate son-Samuel in 1823 at Old Hall,Gainsborough.I don't think he was the son of my 3x gt grandfather as he kept the surname Thornhill all his life.Kitty married Thomas Haram-also born Gainsborough at Sculcoates,Hull on 4 September 1824.They had two children-William-my 2xgt grandfather-and his sister Mary Jane.After Mary Jane's baptism-both children born Hull-baptised Gainsborough-nothing is seen of Kitty-I am trying to find out WHAT happened to her.I have info on Samuel-and his family.Thomas Haram died in Gainsborough workhouse and Mary Jane married in Gainsborough.William stayed in Hull-raised a family died there.Hope to hear from you.TC.Jean

Hi Jean,

I think your Thornhills are a little far back for me to be of any real help and I don't think the cousins are computerised or into family history, but if you get any more up to date names please come back to me and I will try to put you in touch with them. All I can give you off the top of my head is Brian 1934-1996 and his father was Ted, presumably Edward. I think Brian had a sister Kate, still living as far as I know.

The one thing that really shrieks at me from what you say is Old Hall, Gainsborough! Do you know what this is? If not I suggest you do a google search for Gainsborough Old Hall - there will be dozens of listings!

Hi guys,
My family hail from Lincolnshire, and most of them still live in Gainsborough. I can trace the thornhills back to definatly 1808, is this of any interest to you?

Hello,Matt-HAVE I replied to you?it doesn't look like it,apologies if not.DO you have any idea what happened to Kitty?PLEASE! I would love to know,cannot find her after her marriage to Thomas Haram-and the birth /baptism of William and then Mary Jane both born Hull/baptised Gainsborough-then blank on Kitty.Thomas also from Gainsborough-dies in Gainsborough Workhouse,have death cert,William stays in Hull-raises family-dies there.Mary Jane -makes a late marriage in Gainsborough-after an illigitimate son is born.She dies in Gainsborough.BUT NOTHING at all about Kitty.
