Be Just and Fear Not
|
If it is possible, would someone be kind enough to look up the 1841 and or 1851 Census for the HIGH ST, RINGWOOD, HANTS.
There should be:-
HEAD of household : WILLIAM LANGER (aged 35 in '41 and 45 in '51) a Tailor born 1806 Hants, Ringwood WIFE: CHARLOTTE " (same age as husband) " " " "
and some children etc., I NEED the names of everyone present BECAUSE the William named above is shown as the GRANDFATHER of GEORGE EDWARD LANGER aged 2 in the 1861 Census , and subsequent census, but I cannot find ANY TRACE of GEORGE EDWARD'S parent's names.
I suspect they must have died, but, not having names, cannot confirm it.
In the 1861 Census Gge Ed's uncles and aunts are all listed -- with Grandfather William --- at 44 High St. The two eldest being aged 28 and 27, and the next being 25.
It seems likely therefore that G.E's father would have been EITHER 19 or 16 in 1851 : and 9 or 6 in 1841.
Members of the family remained at various addresses in the HIGH ST right through the 1901 Census
In hope, PERCY
