I have the 1851 Census that lists quite a few GATES from Gt. Yarmouth. Who are you looking for? Cool

Thanks for that, the only Gates I have who would have been alive then is a Samuel gates b. 1835 Yarmouth, Ive not got his parents or any bros/sis's though. He was a fisherman so whether his father was I dont know. All I know is Samuel married an Ann Pooley 25 Dec 1857 St Nicholas Church Yarmouth...Samuel is the furthest I have gone back

There are 2 Samuel Gates on the 1851 Census but this is the only one for Yarmouth.

Many Thanks for that, interesting to see the names John,Samuel & William as Samuel went onto have a son John Samuel  plus the date of birth fits as well so it looks like thats the one. With more research I have something to go on now.  Many Thanks indeed ..Most Kind
