I am trying to find this family in the 1861/71 census, In the 1881 census they were living at Broad st. court no.2 Portsmouth. Jeremiah Taw head(son) 34 Mary Taw mother W 59 Joseph Taw brother 14 Sarah Taw sister 12 Mary was married to Jeremiah snr in 1843,but no trace yet of his death. There is at least one other family member,Louisa, who in 1881 was aged 17and working as a servant at 2 Oyster st.Portsmouth(Louisa is the one I'm most interested in.) Any help would be appreciated, thanks Alan

Thanks Cookie for the info on the death of Jeremiah, the age doesn't quite match with what I've got but I'll send for the death certificate and hope. Many thanks to e c for the 1871 census, this I'm sure is the family and will really help me to make progress with the Taw's. Thanks again to you both, much appreciated Alan

Hi Alan,
Did you manage to find what you were looking for. I am a direct decedent of the Jeremiah Taw mentioned in your search. I have information on the marriage of Louisa Taw to a George Coote. Do you still require it?
