I am looking for a record of marriage for my Grt Grandparents.
Searching for Sarah Annie Dodge born 1842 or 1843 Bowers
Gifford, Essex and Hatch John William Harrod born 1844,Pitsea, Essex.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've had a quick look on the ancestry bmd records and can't find anything thats obvious.
Just for clarity - is the surname of your ggrandfather Harrod or Hatch?

on Census sheets after 1881.

Hi Paul
I got my Grt Grandmothers maiden name from my Grandmothers marriage registration when she married in Canada. Annie's place of birth came from 1881 British Census. Annie and Hatch on the 1881 British Census have the oldest child as being born in 1869. I have searched hi and low but have not been able to find a marriage for them. Any help gratefully received.

Well, the only one showing on Ancestry's bmd information is for
Hatch John W Harrod in March Qtr 1907 in West Ham, Essex.
Obviously a bit late for 'your' Hatch - maybe he re-married, or this is a descendent who has the same name?
I'll check the IGI

Best I can come up with is to ask someone to check 1837 Online for the June Quarter of 1869, as Ancestry's bmd shows
Sarah Ann Dodge marrying in June Qtr of 1869, Westminster.
The only reason I'm suggesting this is that there is only one male currently transcribed on the same page, and theres a slim chance the missing person may be your Harrod.
Otherwise, I've drawn a blank.

HATCH JOHN WILLIAM HARROD Dec qtr 1865 4a 221 Billericay i tried to look for SARAH ANNIE DODGE for the same time but couldn't find her.

I found his second marriage and it gave me 2 names for his spouse then i went on 1837 got the details with his name then searched for martha diggines and the details came up exactly the same
