Please can anyone assist by telling me where I can lookup information after 1901 on the internet rather than going to the Lincolnshire archives ?

Are you talking about Births, Marriages & Deaths up to about 1911? A fair little bit of information is to be found on freeBMD.
If you are thinking of censuses then we will not have access to the 1911 census until 2012.
If you take a look through the Beginners Board you will see an astonishing amount of ways of researching data. But freeBMD is the only site that has direct data without payment.
If you want data on BMD after about 1911 then you will have to look at www.1837online.com - a fee-paying site which is Governement run. There you will find BMD right up to the last couple of years. Cool
