Nothing to declare but my genes

Essex Marriage Checks please - if possible!
« on: Tuesday 07 June 05 14:37 BST (UK) »

Someone has very kindly found me a couple of my more elusive marriages but has only given me the dates.  I'd like to know whether there's any additional information given, i.e. parental consent details or witnesses

Henry Stuart & Sarah Bell 25th October 1814 St Michael & All Angels, Manningtree

Richard Randfield & Margaret Adams 6th May 1761 Harwich St Nicholas

Many thanks

Manningtree All Saints Marriages 1813-1837 D/P 265/1/9 fiche 1 of 1 page 6 entry 16
Henry STUART of St Nicholas Harwich Essex bachelor and Sarah BELL* OTP Spinster and a minor married by licence with consent of Sarah BELL* the natural and lawful mother on 25 October 1814
Both signed register though Sarah did so in her married name.
Witnesses were Richd RANDFIELD and Grace BEESTON who both signed.
* To my eyes the surname was not unequivocally BELL - it could just as well have been BILL or maybe BULL

Harwich Saint Nicholas Marriages 1754-1770 D/P 170/1/5 fiche 1 of 2 page 38 entry 150
Richard RANDFEILD* of St Nicholas, Harwich, Essex bachelor married Margaret ADAMS a minor of St Nicholas Harwich spinster married by licence with consent of parents 6 May 1761
Both signed register.
Witnesses were James RANDFEILD* and Wm NELSON
*This surname was written like this each time even in signatures.

With very many thanks

The witnesses, especially to Henry and Sarah's marriage, make a few things make a lot more sense now
