Please could i request a look up for this family in 1851 carlisle 
John Douglas age 38 born scotland
Jean douglas wife age 37 born scotland
Mary Douglas daughter age 17 born scotland
I am afraid I have no idear where in Carlisle or even if they were there I am still chacing the marriage of Mary Douglas to John Sewell I know they were living botchergate when there first child was born in 1853 just spent a fortune on the 1837 website and got nothing

I'd recommend this site...

Where there is a name index for most of Carlisle this may highlight where - if you are lucky and they are in an area which is listed.  I'd then put a look up request in the look up forum with the extra detail (more people look at that board).


Sorry I don't have access myself otherwise I'd do th elook up.

thanks for replying I have tried every which way to solve this one Mary was born in Dumfries I have found her birth details but I think they mooved to Carlisle at some piont tying to finde the marriage  has been a 10 brick wall whith no answeres it was sugested that they may not have married but she calls herself Sewell nee douglas  on the birth cert of the children so I am sure she did marry
