 HI THERE, CAN SOMEONE DO A LOOKUP FOR ME FOR A JOHN WIDDOWSON CH APRIL 1834
FATHER LUKE WIDDOWSON FROM KILLAMARSH DERBYSHIRE
MOTHER ANN HITCHIN FROM WALES

LUKE & ANN DID NOT MARRY, HE MARRIED ELIZA HARSTON I THINK IN THE SAME YEAR, JOHN IS NOT ON THE VRI INDEX, AS I HAVE THEM MYSELF, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO JOHN, MARRIAGE ECT.

Hello Moira,

They're not in Killamarsh in 1841 - any other idea's where they might be?

There is a Hannah Hitchen - age 75 & Mary Hitchen - age 2, living with George Widdowson (Boatman) - age 45,  and family at Nethermoor, Killamarsh.  May be of interest?

HI SUE, THANKS FOR THAT, GEORGE IS ACTUALLY LUKES BROTHER, BORN KILLAMARSH DERBYSHIRE IN 1796, & WE HAVE HIM DOWN AS MARRYING A MARY KITCHIN IN 1824 IN PLEASLEY DERBYSHIRE, BUT HE DIED IN MARCH 1842 AGED 46YRS, THE KITCHIN COULD BE A MIS-SPELLING FOR HITCHIN.

LUKE MARRIED ELIZA HARSTON IN 1836 IN ROYSTON BARNSLEY & LIVED IN STAIRFOOT BARNSLEY UNTIL HE DIED.

COULD I ASK IF THERE IS A JOHN WIDDOWSON IN THE CENSUS AT ALL, AROUND 6/7YRS OLD.

Hello Moira,

There's no John Widdowson (age 5 to 6) in Killamarsh and there's no index to the 1841 census so without trawling through pages & pages of original census images there's no way of finding out where he might be!   Sorry     Sad

If you can come up with a possibility (perhaps the birthplace of a sibling?) I'll check it out, but can't blanket search the whole area.  Where was he in 1851?

HI SUE, THANKS FOR THAT ANYWAY, WE HAVEN'T A CLUE WHETHER HE DIED OR LIVED, ALL WE KNOW HE WOULD HAVE BEEN WITH HIS MOTHER ANN HITCHIN AFTER HER & LUKE PARTED.  ON THE IGI IT STATES HE WAS CH APRIL 1834 FATHER LUKE WIDDOWSON & MOTHER ANN HITCHIN, SO IT LOOKS AS THOUGH HE WAS REGISTERED AS A WIDDOWSON, OR SHOULD I SAY CHRISTENED.
