I have a Thomas Charlton born in Corsenside Northumberland married Margaret Shields from Earlston. I have been unable to find their marriage in England so am hoping they went back to her parish for the marriage. Their first child was born in Newcastle 1879.

I searched the Scotlands People Marriage index from 1855 thru 1885 for any possible match (using broad wildcards) for this couple in any possible district and sadly the search results were zero.

From there I found them on FreeBMD in June 1879. I had Maggie as Margaret and had misspelled her surname too. Thanks very much for that.
