St. Mary Redcliffe (Bristol) parish registers - Vowles / Sage

Could anybody please look up a marriage for me at the Bristol Records Office? John Vowles married Ann Sage at St. Mary Redcliffe, 20th Feb 1837, register 3h, page 126, number 377.  I would love to know any details that are on the entry, especially names of witnesses.  Thanks very much if you can help.

HI Kate,

I have a copy of the marriage entry you were looking for.  Not much extra info except the witnesses were Jane? Sage and Samuel Harwood. writing is not very clear. Both John and Ann signed the entry with an X so must have been unable to sign their names.
They were married by Banns & were both of the parish.

Do you have any more info on the Sage family. I have just noticed in my tree a possible marriage of one of my Jones family to Philip Sage in 1866 in Bristol. They had a daughter Lucy about 1868.

I believe this is the correct SAGE family. Philip appears to be the youngest of 10 children.

Are you related to this Sage family?
I believe Elizabeth Jones who married Philip Sage is the sister of my gg grandfather William Jones.

Hi,

My SAGE connection is to a father and son pair of Joseph Sages who were shoe makers in Bristol. The younger one married Elizabeth Butcher from Cam. Their daughter Harriet Sage (born 1856) married a Hale.

The younger Joseph Sage was born about 1813. I have not identifed any siblings for this Joseph.
