I'm trying to get the birth certificate of John William Taylor.
I have his marriage certificate to Margaret Ann Connelly (also spelt Conoly sometimes) in 1889 his father's name is Thomas. I found on the 1881 census a John William Taylor with parents Thomas and Jane, this makes him the right age and the right place (Chester-le-Street). I tried to order a birth certificate for a John William Taylor born: March qtr 1864 vol 10a page 161. I have been told that this JW does not have the mother Jane.
So all I know for sure is that his father is Thomas and he was born approx 1864. I have no further information.
Can someone help me. I know he was born in 1864-1865 I do not know if the family in the census is definitely related to me, so his mothers name might not be Jane... Can someone please have a look for other John William Taylor's born in that time.
Thanks Karen

The birth you ordered the Certificate for was registered in Auckland which doesn't fit the birthplace given for John William in the 1881 Census (Gilesgate).
The 1871 Census has John W's birthplace as Broomside, parents Thomas and Jane as in 1881.
I believe that means a birth Registration in Durham Central. The Durham County Council website has a birth of a John William Taylor in Durham Central in 1863.
Back to the GRO Index and that birth was registered in the 2Q 1863 Durham 10a 353.
This would seem to fit the info you have.
