Hi All, My Grandma was Harriet Harland, she was born in Whitby in 1860. Her Father wasWilliam Harland born Whitby 1813? He married Hannah Tindale/Tinsley whose Father was John Tindale.
My Grandfather was George Catley Barker born Scarborough 1858. Later the family moved to Hartlepool and eventually ended up in Middlesbrough.
Can any one see any connections with their families?
Anne.

I have just found Rootschat and also Harlands, and I am most interested in developing those in Fylingdales. For background may I offer STORM AND COMPANY of Robin Hood's Bay at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~stormrhb
which has a link to the Pedigree that can also be got at directly at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~mosman.
The latter lists some 20 Harlands mainly in Fylingdales, and may well get to link in to some already mentioned. Roy

Hi Anna, Can't be sure of a Harland connection but I have noticed a few Tindale's on the same census pages as my RHB families so had wondered about a connection. Keep watching this space - If I find anything I'll make a posting! Sue in Australia

Thanks to those who replied to my message. I shall look at the sites mentioned, and keep checking Rootschat in case someone comes up with anything.
If prestongirl is still with Rootschat, my Maiden name was Preston - wonder if it is just a coincidence?
Regards Anne
