There was a Donald BANKS born 11 Aug 1825 at Hunspow, Dunnet.
His parents were James BANKS and Christian CREAR.
He married Catherine SUTHERLAND 15 Oct 1852.

Hi
On the 1861 census, there's a five year-old Donald BANKS born at Dunnet living with his grandfather, James BANKS, at Hunspow. Also living with James are his sons, George and John, and daughters, Ann and Betsy.
On the 1871 census, Donald is described as a 15 year-old scholar born at Dunnet. Both his grandparents, James BANKS and Christina CREAR, are there in Hunspow and also living with them are son, George, daughters, Nancy and Betsey, and two other grandchildren, James and Elizabeth.

Hi
Some more details on James BANKS:
Christening: 1799 April 20 Parent's names: Donald Banks, Margt Cooper Children's names: James Place of abode: Dunnet Witnesses: Katharine Swanson, Girzal Cooper
James died of old age on 27 Sep 1880 at Hunspow.
James' father, Donald BANKS, may have been the son of John BANKS and Christian LAURIE as they had a son, Donald, christened in 1760.
If I am related, it would be through the father of John as I can only trace my line back to Donald BANKS who married Christian DUNNET. My Donald may have been born in 1763, the son of Donald BANKS and Margaret CALDER.

Had a reply off my cousin and she said that the donald banks who was born in 1825,had a sister margaret. She thinks the next Donald banks was her son and was brought up by his grandparents.so donald banks 1825 is his uncle but james banks is his grandfather. Also her great grandmother was a Crear Banks so got to be same family .
