"Geary" name in Liverpool. 1930's ?

This might be better to put in the 'Beginners' section as I am new to all this. I am trying to trace the family line of a Rodney Geary who resided in Liverpool in the 1930's. It is proving difficult. Which directories should I be looking at ? If anyone can offer help or advice of any kind that would be great.

Marriage 1935 From Lancashire BMD

Rodney Geary
Mary A Fontaine
Liverpool South Register Office

You can order the marriage Cert from the Lancashire BMD Website this would give you the fathers names and Address
