Mayhew family in Laxfield
« on: Thursday 10 February 05 23:18 UTC (UK) »

Hi

Looking for details of the Mayhew family in Laxfield, Suffolk.  The details I have are sketchy, so not sure anyone will turn up anything, but here goes:

William MAYHEW (DOB unknown, possibly around 1875/80)
Sally louisa MAYHEW (nee WRIGHT)
Olive Louisa MAYHEW (daughter, born 1909, Laxfield)

I know its a long shot, but thanks anyway

Hello,

Not sure exactly what you want, so looked at 1901 census for a starter.  Because it's a long-shot as you say  Grin will post basic details and then if you think they are yours, can post additional info:

Sally
1901 in Yoxford  Suffolk
Sally L Wright 16  Ubbeston, Suffolk, England Servant

William - there are quite a lot of them in Suffolk, I just picked the two most likely 'fits'

1901 in Carlton Colville  Suffolk
William Mayhew 21  Geldeston, Suffolk, England Boarder

1901 in Southwold  Suffolk
William Mayhew 26  Southwold, Suffolk, England Son

If you have additional info that might help pinpoint them, let us know.

Good luck

Thanks for trying - I think I will go away and pick the family's brains as this isn't so many generations ago, and hopefully someone may have a clue or two to point me in the right direction - will get back to you on this one!!

Hi

I have  John Mayhew b c 1845 in Fressingfield (according to 1881), not that far away.  He married Anna Maria Rumsby Dec Q 1867 (Hoxne).  Seems they then moved to North London and had 4 children in Islington: Alice (1871), William (1876), Edith (1877) and George (1878).
