leader family
« on: Thursday 16 June 05 12:43 BST (UK) »

i am trying to find out more information on john leader

here is information from the 1861 census

John Leader / head/ 56 . born Pembridge / Navigator
Elizabeth / wife 58 / Pembridge/Navigators wife
Rebecca / daughter /21/ Pembridge / Navigators daughter
Robert / son / 18 / Pembridge / Navigator
JOHN / grandson / 7 /Pembridge /scholar

address looks like Moseley, Pembridge

In 1871 , John is living with a family called Ford , all born Pembridge,
it  states that he is a relative , and he is a agricultural labourer.

would anyone have information on him and what happened to his parents or any other information?

he was born in 1855 in pembridge and married a emily stubbs, he started a printing business in wakefield i am not 100% sure that the census information is the same john leader but it seems to tally up.

i have him marrying a emily stubbs

asked my mum about the  old girl  her name was dorothy  she was a miss and when im knew her was 80 + . she did come from the area you are looking though. sorry can't  be of more help ( mums family have lived in village for 200 years  and mums great aunts lived to be 90+ so mum had an idea of most peoples families  that had lived in the village for any length of time sadly village is now dormitory village. i go back and  know very few. )
