Hello,

I'm new but can't get off the site!  I am trying to find information beyond my a certain relative who was a Treasel (Yes Treasel) Carter.  Born I think around 1895 perhaps in Canada but was married around 1913 in the UK.  Her father was Robert Arthur Carter, Canadian, possibly an artist(?).

Any help gladly received - There cannot be too many Treasels around??

Can't help with the marriage, but a Treasel Carter is on the 1891 England & Wales Census, born Toronto Canada living in the St. George's area of Birmingham 3, Jubilee Avenue

George Tudor Head Age 52 Wheelwright Born Shrewsbury
Harriett Tudor Wife Age 60 Born Birmingham
Nelly Carter Daug Age 31 Pen Maker Born Birmingham
Teasel Carter Daug Age 5 Born Canada Toronto
Ralph Carter Son Age 3 Born Warwick

May throw up more questions than answers.... hope it helps!

Sorry, should have added that the Census also shows Nelly Carter as being married, so my guess would be that Teasel & Ralph are her children not George Tudor's.

Your Treasel has been a great project for me, Ronin.

I fear that I haven't come up with much Canadian stuff [Canada I'm a wee bit behind with Canadian genealogy databases, methinks :) ] BUT!... I've found your dear 15 year old in the 1901 English census!

She's changed her name to Theresa and her birth place is mis-spelled as 'Toronso, Canada'...  living with her widowed Mom (spelling 'Nellie' CARTER) and brother (R. Carter) in Birmingham, Warwickshire.

I would tell you more, but I gotta run to the beginner's room to learn about 'copyright'! :)
