I've got the marriage record from the Avoch parish records. It says Isabel More is from Strath. The only Strath I can find is over on the other coast, does anyone know if there is a Strath anywhere near Avoch.

Found reference on web that said: "Strath of Auchterflow, a couple of miles out of Avoch" .
Strath " is a word meaning: a Scottish word meaning a small river valley, and there are therefore many places either named "Strath of...." or Strath.... (eg Strathmore).

Sorry but I haven't managed to trace William Forsyth's parents yet. Do you have any information? I have got a copy of the "Register of Marriages" for their marriage, which gave me information on Isabel Mores father but there was no information on William's father.

The parents of Isabel are Donald More and Isabel Maclennan (abt 1771) from Dingwall whose parents are William Maclennan and Margaret Bain.
