Rebecca Emmott, born Leeds late 1840s (1881 Census shows her age as 36; 1901 Census gives it as 51. 1881 Census shows her to be married and to have a nurse, M. Emmott, aged 13, who may have been a younger sister.
I don't think we are at all closely related (at least not for more than 200 years) but you might like to take a look at my Emmott Family website, Regards, Barry Emmott http://mysite.freeserve.com/emmott-family

Dear Barry, Many thanks for your note via rootschat. I found yours a very interesting web site . If there is any connection to your branch of the Emmott family I think it must be fairly tenuous. My great-grandmother Rebecca Emmott married Edmund Harrison at Leeds Parish Church in 1872. She was the daughter of an omnibus proprietor, who when she was born in 1845 had been an omnibus driver. I am researching my medical history in particular, and wish to know of any forebears with the inherited eye condition retinitis pigmentosa (a kind of tunnel vision). Yours sincerely Ann
