Oldroyd and Holt families in Dewsbury
Benjamin Oldroyd b.1848 married Ruth Rogerson b.1848 on the 16th April 1870. They had at least 8 children including Dick b.1875, Edwin b.1880, William b.1883, Charles Henry b. 1884, Caroline b.1887, Ruth b.1890, Benjamin b. 1891 and Annie b.1896
William b. 1882 married Christiana Holt b.1884 (daughter of Jesse David Holt aka Jesse David Lee) on the 24th July 1906. They had a number of children but they only ones I am aware of are Benjamin b.1914, Harry b. 1916, William b.1920 (my wife's father), Raymond b. 1922 and Albert b.1925. In 1901 William was a confectionery hawker. Family recollection is that the family traded in ice cream(?) in the Dewsbury area.
I would be interested to hear from any one who has any knowledge of the family, especially anyone related to the above in anyway, or those researching the family history to compare notes.
