Richard Harker born 1862, Grassington I believe was my great grandfather. I am trying to trace his parents. I believe they might be James Harker born 1828, Grassington and Martha Glover born 1827, Grassington. If anyone can confirm this from census records I would be very grateful.
I had a look on the LDS site, and on the 1881 census there is two Richard Harker born in the area in 1863, one is a servant within the household, and the other is living with his uncle. So no joy there to who his parents are.
There is two entry on that site, one is for a Richard Watson Harker, who was christened on the 01-10-1863 in Grassington, and the parents are Richard Harker and Amandine (nee Armstrong)
There is also Richard Harker b. 1862 in Grassington parents are James Harker and Martha (nee Glover) it was submitted by by a Anthony Owen, 107. Blenheim Road, Bolton, BL2 6EL. If it is this family there is a lot of info going back on the family. Might be worth a look.
Dont know if you have the 1871 census but will post it anyway.
