Ok you 2.
I will post my missing gran, too.
but befor I do this, Killdrummy, had births right through.
but no deaths befor 1855.sad Cry
BUT!!!.Oldmachar have deaths 1642---- 1854.
st nicholas ... 1793---- 1854.
st clements 1789-- 1854..
so  even though george said he was from aberdeen, {he may not mean born there}.his parents may have died there.
I still think you should get the parish records of kildrummy, just in case. or trowl through, the aberdeen deaths,......... that might be asking too much , not knowing if they were there in the first place Huh
YES, you are right.....
get the census, there are not may georges about.
hmmmm?HuhHuh?

Hi,

"not many Georges about" - this is what I am hoping for when trawling through the 1851 census.

I must tell you an interesting story, about one of my other ggrans.
She fell pregnant, and married the scoundrel.
He turned out to be a right sod.."pardon me"
after she had the baby, her father shipped her off to Australia. [to get her away from him]  and promised to follow her out with the family.
Her dad died a couple of years later, before leaving, and her mother and sisters raised the child.
ggran married again in aus, and as best we know, she was a bigamist!

Hi Kenjo,

Love it..........but "shipping" his daughter to Australia sounds a bit drastic, why not just dispose of son-in-law with a cudgel on a dark night.

What happened to him, as a matter of interest ?

This is the bit I love about genealogy - the stories, and don't forget about your gran.

Might be worth checking Baird genealogy web site - covers Scotland to Australia for Bairds - births, christenings, etc.

Hi you 2 dolls! Grin
My missing Gran was Annie Wallace, married name Shand.
Died between 1906 and 1924.

I have posted a querry, with the council, still waiting, I have bought the 1925 post office directory, and also for indulgence the Aberdeen grammer school enrollment list with about 8000 names.     mind you I don't think I will have anyone attending Grin
Been very busy catching up with the tree, and loose ends, thatnks for your inspiration, girls.
I normally get bored with my tree.
LLEYTON IS STILL WINNING
 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
I wish him the best against Roger.
Lleyton is playing very well though!!!
I'll be shouting a few certificates if he wins. Grin

Hi DD and Kenjo,

In 1851 census for Kildrummy - no mention of either Ann or George and in 1851 census for Old Machar, no mention of George.
Back to the drawing board

Hi DD

Thanks to you and Kenjo I have unearthed - not literally I might add - another Ann Hunter, also illegitimate born 1819 @ Kildrummy and first cousin to the Ann Hunter of this posting.

Problem is this second Ann has also disappeared, so now I'm looking for two Anns, both illegitimate and born within four years of each other @ Kildrummy!!!!!

In view of the above I double-checked Helen in 1861 census, she was enumerated as granddaughter by the then head of household Margaret, widow of Alexander who was Anns father.

Whoever said genealogy wasn't exciting............

More problems Roll Eyes
Never mind, the 1861 will be on SP, then you will be able to check and see if the Bairds were around at that time.  If alive, they
could have been in another Parish -  anywhere in Scotland - anywhere - who knows Huh
Fingers crossed for the 1861 census - sure it won't be too long before SP have it online.    DD
