**FINDING A CONSERVATOR IN YOUR AREA**
« on: Saturday 18 June 05 06:01 UTC (UK) »

Anyone who has old and fragile documents and photographs knows how precious and unique they are. To keep these heirlooms for future generations it is vital that they are stored in a propper manner. Thanks to PrueM, she has kindly given us the links to three sites that should be able to answer any of your queries regarding safe maintenance and storage of your documents.

The AICCM website is www.aiccm.org.au - on the front page is a link at left to "Finding Conservators".

The UKIC has been undergoing some (good) changes recently and has started a website specifically for locating conservators: http://www.conservationregister.com/

The AIC (American Institute of Conservation) has a rather more fiddly link at http://aic.stanford.edu/public/select.html

For countries not covered by the above links it might be worthwhile contacting a local museum for information on specialists in the area.
