Cool,

When were your folks living there ?

How big was the original estate, was there any ruins when you lived there ?

Hi all,
I realise this thread has now been going on for some time but just want to see if anyone can help me out please.
I am related to the Fildes family, some of which went up to Scotland to be with "family members" and one of which died at Barcaple house.  Many were born in Kirkcudbright area in 1840s onwards.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the link between the Fildes and the Neilsens or Barcaple at all?
Thanks in advance
Claudia
