Hi Sandy

I'd be interested to clarify a couple of dates here. I have this William Tansley in my extended tree showing that Ann Hollidge was his second wife. Prior to that I have him married to Comfort Cox about 1771 and she died / was buried Feb 1778. There were 2 children - John and William.
I then have six children for William and Ann (between 1784 and 1792)

Given that the William - Ann marriage was dated November 14th 1777 (three months before Comfort's demise) is it possible to clarify this relationship

William b 24/4/1749 - d. 25/7/1821 (both Cottingham)

William TANSLEY of Cottingham to Comfort COX otp

I am afraid that if the marriage does not note Widower there is no way of
knowing without checking both original marriage certificates for witnesses to
see if they would hold any links.

Being in separate parishes it could be difficult.

Is there a possibility that there may have been 2 William's in Cottingham at the same
time period to different family members.

Clutching at straws.

Comfort was buried on 7th Feb 1777 in Cottingham.

That means William could marry Ann in Nov of 1777.
