Hi Paul,

in 1891, Charles W is a groom on a farm in Great Casterton.
Head is William Holmes, Farmer

Charles W Vernon, servant, 17, groom, b. Rutland Ryhall

Although he is down as Vernon, I have the feeling this is him.
RG12/2553
Folio 88 p. 4

And in 1881, the image could be read Vernum.

Thanks very much.  It looks like I'm going to have problems with this name.

This should be Sarah in 1891:
RG12/355
Folio 42 p. 6
Newington St Mary, London

The image is a hell of a reading so this is my best guess:
(Head: John Clayton Mather, Bookseller and stationer)
Catherine Charity, serv, single, 17, Bookseller's assistant, b. Rutland Great Coaterton
Sarah Charity, single, 16, General Servant Domestic, b. do.

Undecided I was hoping to find Sarah with a sister Catherine in 1881. Doesn't look like it...

Went to check the 1891 image again. Catherine's age could be anything - it's very heavily crossed out. I couldn't find any match for her in 1881. Perhaps she was using her middle name?
