Chicago census
« on: Monday 26 July 04 23:01 BST (UK) »

Hi All,
Could SKS please look in the Chicago census for 1910/1920, I'm looking for Annie Jeffries (nee Heron) born 1874 in Liverpool. She should be with her husband & 3 daughters. I don't have any other information sorry to say, so if anybody could find them for me I would be very gratful.

Hi Ange.
The 1900, 1910, 1920 Census is only indexed for the head of the house, the 1930 census is indexed for all family members, I don't have the 1930's as yet. Do you know her husbands name HuhHuh

Ange, this took some work.
Annie Heron married George Jeffrey in Chicago on Mar. 19, 1895.

1910 census shows.
George Jeffrey, 37, married 15 years, in the US in 1890, waiter in Hotel, from Scot.

Annie, wife, 34, married 15 years, had 4 children, 3 still living, in the US in 1892, wife, from England.

Florence Jeffrey, 14, daughter, Illinois.

Victoria, Jeffrey, 10, daughter, Illinois.

Ethel Jeffrey, 8, daughter, Illinois.

I have Obituaries, need to email.

No need to email, I only found one obit and thats for Annie, not much in it, other than George was dead and it listed her kids.
Florence Maddox, Victoria Wendel and Ethel Sheldon.
I guess the kids all left the Chicago area, I think Victoria died in July, 1980 in Rock Island, Illinois, her birth date was given as, 14 Nov. 1899.
I think Ethel C. Sheldon, born Mar. 10, 1902 died in Chicago in Nov. 1994, I could not locate her obituary.

Cheers.

I sent you the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census on Annie, I also sent you the Chicago Historical Archives and the Illinois State Archives website but since your AOL, they sent them back. I can't send my own daughter pictures to her AOL address.
