Hi Audrey

Have you followed them through the 1891 and 1901 Census

Hi there

Just checked on the 1891 census for a John or John Thomas Rafferty associated with Northumberland - it came back with just one match that was 6 years old as follows:

Rafferty, Catherine 21 Howden, Ireland Daughter  Chirton  Northumberland
Rafferty, Elizabeth 30 Tyrone, Ireland Wife  Chirton  Northumberland
Rafferty, John 4 Howden, Ireland Son  Chirton  Northumberland
Rafferty, Thomas 34 Morham, Ireland Head  Chirton  Northumberland
Rafferty, Thomas 6 Howden, Ireland Son  Chirton  Northumberland

Does not look like the correct one - but you never know

chris I get more confused by the minet with my mothers family I was always told my grandfather was born in Ireland they were catholics but never been abel to finde his birth anywhere  so I tried newcastle just on the off chance that it may of been his parents born Ireland found a John Thomas Rafferty born newcastle but 1885 which makes him much younger than I thought my mother refused to talk about her father and when I tried to get info from the only son left a couple of years ago I was told to leave well aloan and he would tell me nothing so I look forward to finding out what no one wants me to know
