Ah KJ, everywhere you turn leads you to that "brick wall".

Ibi, if you are out there, have you any thoughts on the situation Huh

With my "limited" knowledge of genealogy, I can only think that Ann's death certificate was one of the "escapees", or she married again and her death was only recorded under her "new" married name, with no previous names given?Huh?  I see Helen, daughter, died in Aberdeen.  Could she have gone there with the family after the boys died Huh
So many questions, not a lot of answers Grin

Hope this helps,

Hi,
sorry, I can't contribute but just wanted to say what fascinating sleuthing!

I was just surfing through following my Jessita Findlay, parents, James Findlay -m- Barbara Marshall family of Aberdeen/Morayshire and happened upon the query.

Congratulations all round,
Rena

Hi Kenjo

I just wondered if you ever found Ann Shand nee Wallace's death?

Was really interested when I came across this thread, as Ann's illegitimate daughter Ann(ie) Wallace was taken in by my 3 x great grand uncle and aunt, Alexander Sangster and Bathia Clark. She may even have married one of my distant relatives too, as Alexander Sangster's mother's maiden name was Lawrie, one of my direct lines.

Regards

Ellen.

the only thing ..I was thinking is if Ann did die in the district then ...I would have thought she would have be buried in  the same church yard....and also her sons....

Lovely to meet another ...crossing the branches....don't forget if you would like to add your branch to my website ...just ask..
