Does anyone have either of these names in their records? This has become brickwall territory for me . I am looking for an 18th century link......

Hi, Have you tried the Buckinghamshire History Society? The people there are very helpful, always worth a try to find that missing link! Regards Frances

I would like to know about the chowne and peltzer i am a chown and looking for a connection between the 2 spellings of the name any help would be a blessing thanks angela
The Chowne / Peltzer issue is a long way down my tree. Is it the Chowne /Chown variation you are interested in?
My Chowne are most recently Sussex (Henfield) from about 1812 and then more widespread.
